The 2023 Subaru Solterra now available at Flatirons Subaru is an all-new electric vehicle and the first EV that Subaru has ever designed. Many of the questions we get have to do with charging, such as what your options are and how long it will take. Let’s start with the options. All Solterra models support Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 charging connections. Level 1 refers to your standard, household-style 120-volt outlet. Level 2 refers to a 240-volt outlet, and Level 3 refers to DC charging connections that are found at the fast-charging stations becoming more prevalent in our region.
Charging from 0% to full via Level 1 takes about 50 hours. That’s hardly ideal and only supported in case you’re stuck somewhere with no other option. Most Solterra owners will want to have a Level 2 charger at home, and that will allow them to charge from 0% to full in 11 hours. At a DC fast-charging station, you can charge up to about 80% within an hour.
